Another Chief in the mold!

I dig the graphics, kind of a modern interpretation of classic Indian related images!

Thad Allen's attempt at starting a "new" Apache boat company (and failed lawsuit against Mark McManus) did produce a very nice 41' mold and top deck. I know as a fact that a top deck was pulled off the molds..not sure if they ever produced a hull. They were also building a "one off" step bottom that never was completed. Had Thad Allen dropped the lawsuit and chase for the name "Apache" and focused on finishing a quality product, he may have still been in business. He, with Bob Sacenti's help, put together a great team of people that unfortunately never got to see their hard work completed...

NFW. Figured your azz for dead by now, lol.
But you have the history dead-nutz on. I almost bought them for $50k. Too narrow though.

Guess what, you did (stir things up).
Why state something that's not entirely correct and then say that's a story for another day. At the end of day, the whole fiasco came to a head because McManus came after Thad for the name while Thad was knee deep in his "personal issues" which also created a lot of problems for the people working on the project. Saccenti was the founder and creator of Apache, only he had any right to the name we all later found out. Once the name was transferred and McManus found out about it he went for gold. Think about it... McManus could have done the same more than a decade but didn't do a thing until the name was transferred. Bad timing on Thad's part, maybe had it not been for his personal problems it could have been a great product. Also, McManus got some very nice molds that didn't belong to him.. Perhaps it was McManus who didn't want to see the New Apache succeed....think about it...
In my opinion it's a darn shame those molds went to Pantera because we can all see what happened due to their excellent business practices.
Anyhow, feel free to post the details of the ApacheUSA and "New Apache" story in the Apache section where it's appropriate. This thread is a thread about the build of a new CHIEF!
For everyone else watching the thread, sorry it was derailed.
