Prop size for 260 Stinger
I have a 260 stinger with the original 350s that still run strong. I was wondering if anybody has experimented with different props, I currently have 21 pitch Quick Silver props on it.

Yeah... I have that boat.
I am running 23p mirage.
It is costing me a little top speed but my cruise is good, so I leave them on.
I bet with 21s I could turn a few more RPMs.
But I have Cobras, and you probably have mercs.

Re: Prop size for 260 Stinger
I do have the mercs, with the 21P (Quick Silver Mirage props) it shoots out of the hole faster than my friends new 27' Checkmate w/ 385 hp 454 but revs out at 4500 at 55 mph on GPS.
Do you know what the ratio is in thos Cobra drives???

Re: Prop size for 260 Stinger
I lied. I am running the Raptures. Mirage ripoff for OMC.
I wanna say the Cobra ratio is 1:1.65
The Alpha is 1:1.5 isn't it?
My book is at home.
I get out of the hole pretty good, but I stop twisting at about 4100 or 4200.
I know that is a little low, but that gives me a good midrange.
I used to spin a 21p cleaver on my single merc260 at about 4600.
Member "Glassdave" has an 85 260Scorpion (basically same boat) he has twin SBCs and merc alphas. I think he is running 21p props and turning them a little faster. I know he is faster than I am.
Maybe check with him. He is on a couple threads and will answer a PM.
He's a good guy.
Good luck.
Got pics?
Here's mine.

hehe . .yea . .i'm in the same boat. i run 23 quicksilvers and i like them alot but feel they are just a bit to big. they cary the bow great. the best i have seen is 60.9 on gps at about 4500 trimmed to the moon and in the perfect water. my motors are fresh so i am going to try and warm the motors up a bit more, maybe a bit more cam an some vortech heads.

I wish I had fresh power.

Re: Prop size for 260 Stinger
Thanks for the info guys, I think I'll try to find me a pair of quicksilver 23p. I'll let you know in a couple weeks how it went.
I'll post some pictures when I get them.
