I had a feeling I'd recognize that boat when I hit the link
Good luck Jon. I hope you're able to sell it quickly and for what you're asking for it.

Yeah, I kind of posted this as a joke. But it really is for sale.
I think that for 16k.... any functional drives will do.
Actually... in all honesty... I have had no problems whatsoever with the cobra drives. I had to do shift cables once, and had to adjust one once.
But the drives have been fine. My Alpha on my old boat gave me all kinds of trouble. You aren't gonna break a Cobra with a small block. That's for sure. Parts are readily available. Plus... you can change out impellers in minutes without removing or splitting the drive. I could literally change an impeller in the water with the drive on.
I replaced both this spring, took a couple minutes.

I guess if I get "stuck" with it, it could be worse.
I took the boat to PIB Sunday and I swear every single person who went down the dock stopped and asked about it.
One lady walked by talking to somebody else and I heard her say... "We're not really into speedboat type boats... but that one is COOL."
I have gotten about 6 or 8 emails wanting more pics, but so far nobody has come to see it yet.

So you did make it to the bay this weekend. We had some of your group (RHC, RaceGirl, Thrillseeker) down our way this weekend for a poker run. Awesome weekend and the weather was wonderful. Tonight would be a good night to head out too.
I know what you mean about relaxing. I love boating, I really do and so does Rob. However, we live in an area where every single nice weekend and several nice week nights you stop what you're doing and because you can only do so from May until mid-Oct (and you're pushing it then), you put all this fun into a short time span.
I miss boating when January rolls around, but I don't mind putting the boat away in late Sept/early Oct after all the nights and weekends that we've crammed into a short, short summer.

Not knockin the Cobra drive. Ive got one behind a 460 in my 245 Limited.
Ive had it 6 years and had the shift cable adjusted once. This weekend at the poker run on Lake Cumberland, after a hard run it was tryin to get hung up in gear, had to shut off the engine to get to nuetral. And some times when it was cold it would hang up. Its just that when people are out looking for a boat, the OMC is scares most of them off. Unless youve had one before, you dont really worry about it.
