Default How much power can a 245 limited handle???

First let me say great site... I'm looking to build a high H.P. engine for use in a limited 245. My boss has blown various engine's thus collected lots of extra parts. (block, heads, blowers etc.) Going to piece together a 572ci merlin II supercharged engine for the 245. I plan on keeping it mildly tuned. I'm looking for approx 650-750 hp @ approx 3 psi. What kind of drive should I use (surface, bravo??). any help would be appreciated.

P.S. how much horse can a bravo 1 handle?

I have a limited too,I am all about as much hp as possible but in my opinion this hull is not going to hold up to the speeds that combo will do,stingers have a totally different hull design.
I took my boat home last Sunday to do some outdrive maintainence and saw a fine stress crack running along one of the strakes,I repaired it this week,i am almost done,I had to cut under a cuddy cabin seat to check on the inside and saw that the boat does not have alot of reinforcements,I would not push this hull past 65ish in my eyes.
I don't want to kill your dreams but just would hate to see someone get hurt,I think that would be a sweet combo too!!
I have one of the few small block limiteds and did heads and a cam, needs a blower now too!! The small block has a hard time pushing this big boat!!

I say for a stock bravo to last you will have to be VERY nice with that engine, good with a throttle, you will be in the air alot and if not throttled right that drive will fall apart.

if your switching from alpha to bravo i would highly recommend to go on and instead find a used 3a drive, transom assembly, steerin, etc. if you are goin to switch drives your best to go on and make it strong enough to last. im not sure how much $$$ your wanting to spend tho...for 16500 i think you can get an arneson asd6 kit with tranny in a box, steering, and drive unit..everything complete except for drillin holes. for under 10grand you should be able to find yourself a good condition complete 3a with sterring etc...waht size tabs does ur 245 have?

I've got a 460 , 340hp. in mine and GPS at 64mph. (On a perfect day and a near empty cooler) She dont like a lot of trim, but i guess thats ture with anything. My 2 cents is that hull was not built to handle the kind of speed you might get, but you cant beat that tub for a good cruise.
