This whole boat has been gone through. The engines are updated with Dart intake, world products heads, Inconel SS steel valves, Gold crane roller rockers, etc. They have 1Hr Dyno time on them and 1Hr in the water. The Borg-Warner green tag velvet drives are brand new not rebuilt. The steering is tight, the transom assemblies are rebuilt, drives have low hrs. The boat has VDO gauges, a combination GPS and Radar system, Onan generator, 10 Disk CD changer, amps, 6 6x9 speakers and 2 subwoofers. The stereo has its own dedicated battery and charger. Custom built TV/VCR microwave cabinets. The entire interior in the cockpit and cabin were replaced, electric fold down boaster seats and new marine air-conditioning /heater 4-5 years ago. The bathroom has a sink, hot water shower, and new electric Marine head. 1999 tri axle Aluminum slide on trailer. I am the second owner and asking $65,000. I might take a partial trade. Call me @ 1-920-420-4300 and we will take her for a ride.. Located in Pickett Wisconsin.

Dug through my old mags, etc. No test in 86 or 87 on the 390 or 410. Powerboat did the 312 those years. I do not have a 1986 or 1987 brochure. I do have the 1985 brochure with the 390X. In 1985, the specs. were, length 39', beam 9', weight (boat only) 9760 lbs., fuel capacity 200 gallons, fresh water capacity 18 gallons, add 2588 lbs for 2-370 Mercruisers or add 2560 lbs. for 2-400 Mercruisers. These specs are almost identical to my 1983 specs.
Never had a problem towing, or with the Black Thunder at 9.5' wide. Just make sure your trailer is only 8.5 wide. The biggest concern if towing a lot is, if you get in an accident, will your insurance pay if not properly licensed and permitted?

What permittes are you talking about? and i assume the licensed means trailer plates for the right weight

That's not a 415. Chris Craft never made a Stinger with that windscreen. There is going to be a problem. I emailed the guy and he says his title says it's Chris Craft. I would double check the hull numbers and make sure it matches his title. It looks to me to be a Formula 382 SR-1. That exhaust setup is a patented Formula deal. That boat doesn't have a 9' beam like a Stinger should. The Formula is worth more. If you can get it titled right I'd go for it.

TomZ should have the weight and size specs for that year on a brochure I recently gave him when I sold him my 222 Stinger. Drop him a PM if you still want the info.

The boat with the big "stinger" name down the side looks like an older model from Formula/Thunderbird to me based on the built-in rectangular exhaust outlets (aka silent thunder exhaust), windshield profile and dash layout.

I got the Hull# from the 41' and ran a Boat History report. all came back clean but I have a few questions. That seems to be wrong Length is 42', Beam is 15' that can not be right and the Gross Ton are 14 and Net tons 11. to me that seem way off. In the description it says 9' Beam. legal road width is 8.5' have you guys ever had a DOT problem pulling these wide boats? Anyone know the wet weight of this boat? I am thinking around 12,000 lbs. Will Chris Craft give me any information if I call them?

Permits would be for an oversized load. Too wide. Fairly cheap in Michigan and easy to get. If way wide, like Hotrodders Cary, other vehicles front and rear and they give you the route to follow.
After reading the other responses, I think they are right. The transom looks like a Formula and the curved windshield also. There is a 42 Chris (415) in the classifieds you can look at. Maybe the guys on the Formula board can figure it out if you ask over there. I don't know what year or model it is.
