New To Me 86 Stinger 260
I think I have rights to post pic's now so I'll give it a try. I bought this Stinger off e-bay 7 weeks ago and decided to keep the boat were it was in TN for now. Lake Grant Hollow is a great place and I finally was able to spend the weekend on the lake last week. I am very happy w/ the boat and can't wait to get back to the lake.

Hey, that's my old boat. Glad to see it still looks so good. I sold it around 7 years ago and had lost track of it. Did a lot of work and changes to it - counter rotation, rub rail, emblems, swim platform, engine mods, etc, etc. It aways got lots of looks and sounded great (even though my wife aways said it was too loud). If you have any questions about it I might be able to help with, let me know.

Sector, Wow good contact from the forum. I bought it from Don Whitaker, he got it from a boat dealer who got it on trade from two brothers in the construction business. Are you one of the brothers? Send me an e-mail at ([email protected]) and we can discuss details about the boat because I do have questions.

Sector, I have lots of questions but I guess the one only you can answer is what mods you made to the 350's? I can see the MSD, intake, carbs etc, are added but was wondering if you did any internal work on the engines.

No, I'am not one of the brothers but I do know who they are. One of them is who I sold it to. Modifications to the engines were minor, Edlebrock performer cams, lifters, and valve springs. Crane roller tip rocker arms, new timing chains. Performer intakes with the carburetor metering rods matched to old 300 Tempest specs and K&N flame arresters. They used to run real good. Picked up almost 5 mph on the speedometer over the stock 260 set up. I'll email you later on.

They still run good. I was surprised at how effortlessly they pushed the stinger out of the water and cruised like they could go for ever. How many hrs were on the meter when you did the work?
