Chis Cat speeds
Anyone with a Chris Cat, could you post your speed and engine combos. Also any areas of concearn with age or design. What year where they made from/to. Are there any years to watch for or any best years? Thanx for the time. Andy...

They're heavily built by todays standards. And there are a lot of the hulls still running and in good shape. As in any other boat, check for transom/stringer rot.
As for power/speeds, 525SCs with SSM IIs ran right at 100.
Increasing the engines boost gave about 575hp and changing to SSM IIIs with a slightly higher X dimension showed a top speed of 107.
Another boat had 800hp motors, with SSM IVs on boxes ran a little over 130mph.
