CHRIS CAT SPEED, are they that slow???
Someone here bought a project boat I looked at 3 years ago. 1987 chris cat 31 with stern drive.
He ran it this summer, converted to 3 x 2.5 outboard. You know what?
He's only running 76 mph, with a guesstimate of 150$ / hour at roughly 45-50 mph...
Man I can hardly believe this! Do you guys think this is normal? are they gas eater that much?

I dont know much about the outboards, but my 1985 Chris consistantly runs past 115gps with 736hp 509's gm heads etc. Not to mention it handles rough well, with old school SSM III drives and big shafts, we had a great summer and finished the Lake Cumberland Poker Run without a hitch. Most boats we have ran with are well over $50k more and we have just as much fun!!!
