I would assume the stinger would have a similar deadrise. Have you looked into this? Is it a concern for you? Thanks.

Yeah both are 24 degrees. The Chris Craft has 6” more beam than the 38 scarab but I think the issue is overstated, I’ve been anchored up fishing with guys with 302 scarabs, converted midnight express and 40 Excalibur’s which I think is the same as this stinger hull. Never noticed anything unusual about the boats attitude.
Maybe I just haven’t been in the right conditions.
If you build the 38, I would be very interested in how you tackle the top cap.
I wouldn’t have attempted the project if I hadn’t known of mould in the works locally.
I have an ‘82 corsa that I cut the deck off from the helm forward, I hated the way the deck sloped but it would an interesting project if I could get the deck right. I think a lot of people here would love to see you do a CC.

RR I was thinking that “home brew” boat snack you described would make good grouper chum.

Even underwater I think the smell would scare them away.
It scares the Hell outta me.

[QUOTE=hblair;4788326]Nice looking work! I've got a 1982 38 scarab flat deck I've been kicking around doing a center console conversion on when I'm done with my current project.

It’s easier if you can keep part of the deck to build off of like this cuddy removal.

I’ve seen it done all the way around at the rub rail but you end up with a low freeboard

Some decks are similar enough to what you want to end up with that they work. This midnight express hull has a deck from a 43 scarab and a console from a pursuit. 440 yanmars detuned to 350 hp to help keep xr’s alive.

Older local 36 midnight

CC 315 yanmars/xr

It would be interesting to see what could be done with some interior bling vs bare bones fishing machine without clashing with the old school lines.

Was scheduled to go to Innovation to put the drives on first week of march but conflicted with the burnt store run with the ft Meyers group. Had promised my 85yr old dad I’d take him on a run before it gets hot here. Rescheduled Innovation for end of month.

BTW Eddie I have a “handy man special” for you just bring a trailer lol.
1982 30 Corsa
Loved the deck cap from helm to stern but hated the lines from the helm to the bow so it got the sawzall. Just need a flat deck & big power lol
