I HAVE A 35 CAFE RACER WITH 3 BLADE 25p PROPS. Power is 502 500 HP. A buddy lent me a set of 4 blade 24p props which seems level in mid range performance.
Does anybody have ideas how this cig will best perform using either 3 or 4 blade props and whats the best pitch?

Well I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I run a 26 hydromotive four blade.I can only turn it at 47 to 4800. I've tried 23 four blades and can turn them at 5200. with only little gain on the top end and a loss of cruise speed. How many rpm can you turn the 24s?

For all-around best performance, 4-blades are far superior to 3-blades on the Cafe. I didn't like 3-blades at all, they blew out, and didn't plane well and didn't like trim at all. I run Bravo 1's, and the mid-range is great, top end might be slightly less than 3-blades, but all around a better prop. Pitch will depend solely on your HP and rpm range.

Hi guys
I have a cigarette 38 top gun with 565 cu.in and speed masters #3a Im running with 18 by 30 props 3 blades it runs 55 at 3000 rev but the top end is 3800 and 4000 . Why the difference in rev in the same right side changin engines trans ?
wich prop would you consider it will be the best if you have the experience with this type of boat
thanks

I run 17.25 x 28 pitch 4 blade clevers on my Cafe, 557's and Speedmasters. It turns 5100 RPM with a full load of fuel and 4 people, I run a 1.62 gear ratio in the drives. I would look for some 4 blades, the overall performance is much better. You will need to cut the diameter down to at least 17". My props were 18" when I got them and 4700-4800 was the best I could get out of them.

With 18 x 28 4 blades it ran 73.5 @ 4800 RPM on GPS. With 17.25 x 28 4 blades @ 5100 it ran 77 on GPS. There is very little prop slip with that big of a prop.

Henrys Those props are way to big . Your going to hurt the motor having the motor at full throttle and only turning 4000 rpm. Any interest in selling them ? end me a PM if interested.
