I often ask myself "why is my boat still with me? Is the problem the pink stripes or the TRS drives that is the deal killer?"

1. I have thought about removing the unique color scheme, but the heritage of the "flamingo" should live on.
2. Having full hydraulic steering would enhance stability, but when are you really blasting through swell at WOT?
3. The TRS drives are outdated, but setup correctly, they will give better service on these big, heavy boats. The transmission handles the load/unload off ocean swells. I was disappointed to find out that my drives tore through gears at 145 hrs. I was elated to find a guy to rebuild them and learned that they were assembled "too loose" at the last rebuild. The new owner will have fresh rebuilds on both drives.

This boat has been well maintained and is great value. I am not going to just give it away(2 people have offered 60K). 3 people have recently purchased Top Guns that have inquired about mine. They didn't even come out to see her. I have a deal pending East after the sale of this ole gal, someone needs to step up and take the legacy keys...

PW, west coast boats are a tougher sell.
But then again, it took LS a long time to sell her too.
I think your boat is a great buy. I think its the best older hull there is, since it is so light. And yes, let the pink flamingo live.

Storm

The irony is that 1 guy that lives merely 35 miles away wouldn't come look with repeated invitations, and still purchased from Florida. Another from LA has looked and wants to check his options (in Miami now). And another that is as close won't call back. 3 interested partys from West Coast and no sale. To top it off, my next one is in Florida also. I am willing to deal if someone presents the cash.

Wow, PW, that is odd.
When I got my boat, I was looking at one in cali.
The one in cali was a 28 and substantially more $, but in the end, i ended up putting alot into my 24, pretty much what i would have had in the 28.
And the 28 would have been an easier sell and I probably wouldn't have lost much $. Learn and live.

BTW PH, your boat w/ konrads and 650-700 per side would be a f'n screamer!!! Pink stripe and all.
