Who are you, George Jefferson....................MOVIN ON UP!!!!
Straight bottom boat will struggle to break 80 mph with stock 525/575 but won't struggle to break bravos.

This is my favorite boat right now and the price keeps dropping, it is listed at 309K on Suncoast's site:

Those are all straight bottom speeds. On the twin steps with 525's they run around 82-84 mph and 575's around 86. With 500efi's they run 78-80. The non steps and the step boats have the same cabins, either covergirl or extended cover girls. They are just half cabins. There were 1 or 2 flat bottom boats built with the full cabins. The 42x has staggered motors but is built for larger power and nxt's or 6's. They have built them with 525's but are slower than the side by side boats.

The 42X triple 525 boat should hit what speeds? Is that a good/bad set up?

I would say its a good set up. Great reliable power. Its better than big power and 6's for cruising. They should run low 90's since the 46's run around 88.

The green boat will run 90mph +/-. I love the paint, you have to see it in person. It depends on how you use the boat to say whether it's a good or bad set-up. I'd personally take bigger power and twins but if you plan on taking long trips or you're a new boater the three smaller engines may be the ticket. They didn't make many either, I only know of three.

I love the paint. The trips would be a nightmare to insure/ maintain but it is a cool ride. The insurance companies hear triples and think you will be racing Apaches or Smokin Joe's every weekend.
Hideaway has had a new 525 triple boat for 2 years so that might be an issue when it comes to resale time.

There is a black TS Tiger for sale in the classifieds that is real nice.
Freds boat is a killer deal too.
