3 notched Cafe's were made.
The Cafe vs. the Top Gun/same power (unstepped gun of course), in any water, smooth or bumpy, the Gun will always be faster than the Cafe. Even the notched Cafe's.

I've suggested to him that he try standoff boxes, longer tabs, or even a prop change. He doesn't care really since he just cruises at 55 or so 95% of the time. The boat has some potential though, and is very clean. One of my favs.

Increasing waterline length increases boat speed. Ask any racing sailor.
A 37.5' hull (TG) will be more efficient through the water than a 35.0' hull (Cafe'). Both boats have an 8' beam.
All of that said, I am very happy with my Cafe' Racer, SEABISCUIT.

Hello, Tank -
Have seen the video of your runs in Kevin Schulte's 1993 Cafe' Racer.
I bought the boat from him at the end of 2003 and had it shipped back to Miami. Her name is now SEABISCUIT.
Best regards,
Skip Pierce

That is the nicest Cafe I've ever seen, bar none. You got an amazing deal. What are you going to do next?
Here's some pics before you had her....a LOOOOOOOONG time ago!
