Friend of mine is looking for a hatch for his Cafe' He doesn't want to cut up his existing hatch, but replace it with the hard fiberglass tall one ( blower hatch ) like i have only seen on a top gun. Do or did they make one of these for a cafe? Anyone have any pictures if they exist, or someone that can make one? [email protected]

They do exist for Cafe's. I had one ( they are more commonly called a race hatch ) on my carbon fiber '91 Cafe and I have also seen a few others over the years. Dont know if I have any good pics of it. Does your friend have Bravo's in his ? If he's going to buy an existing hatch, I BELEIVE it needs to come off / have been on a Bravo powered Cafe so that the flame arrestors / air cleaners clear the underside of the hatch. I beleive that a race hatch off of a SSM or maybe even a TRS boat wont clear because the motors are further forward.

Thanks For Clearing that up Bongo, Still a stupid name for a hatch insert,
Jamie if you have a pic please send it, or if you know of where i can get one, maybe we will have to make our own out of an extra cafe hatch. Who has one of those laying around. This particular boat is a bravo boat however he doesn't need it to clear the motors. It is just needing more air the little side vents aren't able to flow enough for the ProCharged power plants. I beleive this boat should really run when done. It is a GT1 edition?? I don't know what that means or if it even belongs on the boat. But when driving it it trims up well and feels light, like its gonna haul ass. M-3's on 502's aluminum heads dry exhaust, xr tops with shorty bottoms, should be good for some LOTO cafe' racing, so to speak.

Here is a pic of mine. They think they only came on boats with SSM drives. It was due the the engines being mounted 3"s higher and a standard hatch would not clear. A bravo setup should have a ton of clearance

We had a 3A boat in NY that had the standard hatch, but no blower motors...
