FYI - Offshore Obsession is out of business..

It's listed on offshore only now...but it won't last long!

That would all depend upon what your goal or idea was?

$40k is a pretty middle of the road "upgrade" number on this boat I think.

It's not enough to repower it with 6's when you think about the labor involved to do so, AFTER you've bought the parts. You're probably not going to find 3 good engines for that number that will make much of a difference in performance. You would need a few hundred more HP per motor to see any improvement worth pursuing. Those Bravo's wouldn't be around long enough to enjoy it though.

You could however completely upgrade the dash, trick out the upholstery, carpet, and touch up the rest to make it REALLY look sharp. You would probably save some of your $40k with that. I'd probably look into a nice rebuilt set of XR's, or new Konrads to strengthen your rear end at some point too.

For whatever it sells for..... I would just buy it, and drive it until something breaks on the mechanical end. If it really hasn't been used much since the drives and engines were done, it should last awhile if all of that was done right. Bravo's are cheap to fix, and those 500's shouldn't give you much grief, if any.

It isn't going to be real fast without major upgrades, but damn, what a nice price for a known piece of Cigarette Racing history that seems ready to run.

I picked up a performance boat driving video from 1990 called Top Gun. I believe Craig Barrie is driving a 42 Revolution in it.
