Doesn't mean anything....It's still a Cigarette! Flat deck 38 is a great boat. I don't think the hull was changed from the flat deck to the Top Gun. Just the deck, interior and dash. I think they even kept the same cabin until 1990 when they changed the cabin layout.

I admired that boat last summer at the broker's lot, before realizing there's no way a 38 would fit in my condo's slip. because the neighboring dock is too close.
But, it was supposed to have low hour engines and newer gauges back then. Why'd you change them again?
Either way, the 38 flat deck is a nice boat, a real piece of history, and congratulations on getting it and caring for it.

My buddy did some of the work before I bought it.
The motors have about 25 hrs on it. Had 12 when I got it. Motors still need a little more tuning. They load up real bad at idle and it will occasionally kill it. Carb issues I believe
I went back and forth about it myself. I didn’t know if I wanted to spend the money finishing off the boat or just get a newer one. He called me one day and told me I could have it for basically pay off so I couldn’t pass it up.
I have only used it once in the fall harbor hop and it has been in various shops since.
I am ready to turn her loose as soon as we get another weekend like we just had
Thanks for all the good words
