Compared to what is out there...
This is a very nice, well rigged boat... if its as nice as pictured.
So you bought your boat for $4,000?

Here is my stance on all of this price thing. None of us know what any of these boats are selling for. We just have the perspective of 2 maybe 3 parties. The buyers and the sellers and maybe some that just want to be heard as was previously mentioned. Each group has thier motivation and the fact is that probably none of us know what the last 15 cigs SOLD for. We may know of one or 2 but that doesnt project an accurate picture of the market. So I dont care what some may think we are all just making speculations. I see it being that simple.
BTW I like buying a deprecitated well cared for boat. Yea its cool having a show room type boat but for me thats really pissin money away. I also dont always believe "you get what you pay for"

Good condition is $6k.
And in your book would be $4k.
A 20yr old 24pantera in good condition will bring $15-20k.
24pantera and 38cig are comparable in their own classes.
I agree you don't always get what you pay for.
I also think your figuring of pricing is off, since you think a good 650hp engine will run you $15k.
BTW, there are guys here that know what the cigs sell for.
No one is keeping track of the 20yr old bajas.

your killing me, I will be the first one to say I pissed off a TON of money on a new boat and it is a terrible waste of money. Having one of the best made and looking boats on the water is not for the average fair weather boater.

To me, the bottom feeders are the ones (I wont say names) that continue to basically talk sh!t about others that are trying to sell their boats by saying "it's too much, over priced, not worth it" etc. The main problem with this is that these said people AREN'T EVEN INTERESTED IN THE BOAT. Just get on here and knock it.

not sure you can get a 38 with that power they want the big motors staggered for handling so you have to go to the 39 which i think is pretty well the same boat with a lot less room in the cockpit.

A 20yr old baja in mint condition is worth $8-10k in my book.

But just one clairification. I said I know of an engine builder who will build me a 540 carbed 600 hp engine for about 15K. If thats not for you then OK just trying to help some one out who may be interested.
I am not one to tell anyone how or who or when to spend their money. But I also dont want to see someone get ripped off by spend too much when it could be avoided.
