5 blades almost cure the porpoise, and 6 blades 100% cure it. the boat is a completely different boat with 6 blades, even my buddy riding next to me said it looked different in the water and got on plane different. Its honesly unbelievable the handling improvement with 6 blades... I couldnt spin the 6 blades quite enough RPM's so i recently (last weekend) went to -2" shorties. I have run the boat with the -2" shorty and my 5 blades and the boat still jumped right on plan and rode well, next is dial in some 6 blades which will both gain me speed and completely eliminate the porpose.

A lil trim and tab does the trick too, not as big a deal as its made out to be.... Still a great boat IMO.
with the 6 blades on i could have took the trim tabs off, the hooked the entire boat right up with the water

I bought the yellow one a year ago . I just picked up 380 trim tabs to try. I like what boomer did but right now i dont have the money for the drive upgrades . what prop do you actually have boomer. I only have 496 hos . Did you gain or loose speed with all your changes boomer.

I tried a pair of hydromotive 4 blades a friend ran on a fountain and the boat would not get up on plane. The props would blow out. No matter what i did it just wouldnt go. I am running bravo 1 28 labbed. They blow out getting on plane but catch. Would like to get rid of that too. I really like the boat, just have to drag the tabs a little now.

I was just wondering what you guys do. I have a 28 Pantera with numberIII's and alot of porpoising without tabs. I have only ran it in smooth water so far, just got it last September. Going to check it out in bumpier water and also going to try some weight in the bow.

Big Boat. If you asked 3 people this question, you would likely get 3 different answers as to what you could/should do to improve the stability and performance of your 28' Pantera (everybody has an opinion - right or wrong). I have had this hull in the past and also have an opinion as to how to improve it but honestly, I recommend you go to the best source and ask Jo or Pepe Nunez at Pantera boats. Jo builds, and has for many years raced this hull. Those guys will give you the most accurate and efficient answer. They are great guys. You can contact Jo at (786) 331-7100 (office).
