Default Anyone know this old 28 Ciggie?

I've been drawn to this boat for months. Looks like it could be a fun project to tinker with.

Has anyone here seen this boat or know any history?

Thanks OSO Buds!

the owner of that boat had a car shop in hoboken n.j my father knew him very well , the owner pasted away a couple a years ago, my father was in that boat several times and said it was hairy to say the least, too much power for that hull ,was told the boat ran 100 or better with those twin gale banks, 28s sit low as it is ,that boat i remember water sitting above the rub rail, would be nice to put back to original, i dont know how those merc trans hold up with all that power. i thought about looking into it but im not into black boats.

Thanks for the replies. A friend is going to take a good look at it today.

-Had a similar Gale Banks twin turbo BBC years ago in a 24 Superboat. Twice the headache might be fun huh?

Love the projects!

Not trying to steal the thread, however I have my first child on the way, and have to gather my priorities. So my 28ss is now for sale, I used it 3 times in the last 2 years! Next to this one listed above mine is a steal, needs nothing! $22,000 O.B.O completely rebuilt trailer included! Jeff 313-477-9330...............Pics in link
