There's actually a lot of 46's out there compared to 42's when you take into consideration how many fewer have been built. I love the theme 46's painted by TAOD. Frank, a TAOD 46 Ciggy is the way to go......

Like Brace I've had both. Actually I've had 2 different 42s; one X and one Tiger as well as 2 different 46s. The Tiger doesn't get into this discussion.
The 46 is just an incredible boat and extremely smooth, balanced and efficient. It is noticeably different than a 42. That does not mean the 42 is not a great hull as well. I have not been on both with comparable power. I had 700s/NXTs in the 42 and its hard to beat that combination package.....but it can be beat by the 46 with 6s/8s and 1075/1350s. Absolutely no discussion between 1075s vs 1350s. The 8s/1350s package is unbelievable to say the least. You just can't imagine until you've ridden the boat; then you will understand perfectly. Like Ferris Bueller said, "if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up".
I have drove the 50' on a nice trip to Key Largo and didn't notice the length that much while cruising versus the 46. It was noticeable to me while docking and I did notice the difference in the cockpit as that is where they added 2 of the additional feet.
