Update on project. Two buddies of mine went out with me Saturday to do some water testing/tune. At WOT with hatch open they noticed water coming out of my tail pipe four inch exhaust hose going to the transom tips. The hose has two hose clamps on them. It only leaks at WOT. Boat only running 72 mph at 5000 rmp. My tips have baffles welded inside. So we think I have to much back pressure. Ordered new transon tips withwout baffles this morning. Any one else ever have this problem ? Has anyone changed tips and noticed a different in performance ?

Update, installed 4" straight tips without mufflers. Boat runs 75.8 GPS @ 5500 rpm's spinning 26 pitch Bravo 1 props, 3/4 tank and three people. Sounds like a real boat now without mufflers. 11.5 hrs on new engines and Konrads drives. Changed engine oil today, change drive gear lube tomorrow. 67* today, high 60* Tuesday & Wed. Hope to burn the last bit of gas out and winterize. Happy with the boat now. Been a long project. Now just have to wait till May.

Give me a call if you go out again and want a rope monkey. I would love to check it out.

Thats with 850 HP a side and Konrads???? Sounds like you could use 28P props....or possibly a 5 Blade maximus.

I'd agree that something's off there. I had warned 525SC's putting out around 650 a side with 3a's in my 95 gun. Ran 74ish on GPS. With 850's you should be way faster.

By the way, where's the pics!?

I'm not running 850's. I'm running 555 cuin merlin tall decks. I have my best torque of 630 at @ 4400 rpm. At wot at 5500 rpm I'm making 580 tq @ 607 hp. Running 75.8 mph. I'm spinning 26 p bravo 1 props. At 5200 rpm I's making 606 tq @ 600 hp. Should I leave my props as they are? Changed drive oil today. Konrads hold 6 qt each @ 22.95 a qt. 275.00 total. No discount. That hurt. Will be 60's Wed and Thurday, will take my last ride and then winterize.

SXM, I'm only make 630. Kreed started the 850 hp thing. I'm happy with 75.8mph. That was on slick water. Now winterized on lift. 12 hours on new engines and Konrads drives. Oil changed in engine and drives, waiting on spring weather.

You'll get 2-3 MPH more when you get in some good water getting some air under the boat. Sounds like it runs well. Congrats.
