Looked at a few 42 tigers and top guns. The 38 top gun has a little more room in the cockpit area, so I chose to go with the 38. Both are awesome boats. My 2cents

Hi Tim. Hi Tank.
Yeah, that's why I said bravos and 42 tigers don't mix! Actually, I think it was both of you that told me that!
I got a ride in Kenny Boyce's Tiger once. Man, that was a nice boat.
My main reason for my boating addiction is to run hard in the Pacific. There is just nothing like jumping those big rollers and getting some serious hang time! If I have to go slow there is no point in being out there. That's why me next boat has to be a wave crusher.
Tank, didn't your signature line used to be something like, "It's not how fast you can go, it's how fast you can go in 5 footers!"?

Lol. Yea. Everyone talks about too speed and all. Bit out here in the pacific you need something that can handle a routine 6 foot swell plus wind chop. If you've never run for a long distance in 6 footers and chop at 70+ mph, you don't know offshore running. My .02.

I love my Tiger it is amazing in rough or choppy water. I can not get over how responsive the boat is in 3' to 5's. Top Guns have a bigger cockpit but once you sit at the helm in a Tiger with that long deck in front of you, you'll be hooked for life.....unless you take the controls of a Rough Rider.

seeing you want a larger cabin for sleepovers and would like to go wave jumping i would suggest a number 6 outerlimits. you get a LOT more head room, it's more plush and the number 6 boats are coming down in price. there seems to be a pretty good selection of them as well.
