very true, also if I am only pulling 5500 in the boat, saves me 500 rpm of abuse and maybe it's a blessing to help keep it together... god I hope if it blows up 420's are probably going back in and 64 mph turn key will be just fine HAHA

Nothing wrong with a 540. Its been done a gazillion times successfully. Plenty of guys have gone 300 trouble free hours with a basic crane hyd roller, like the 741 cam, made 650+hp, and didn't eat up valve springs, lifters, and so on.

I know just saying I wont have cash if it REALLY breaks... you know how I roll, if cash there fix, if not I gotta do something, but I wont miss a season no matter what...
Dyno next week, see what happens, if I have 800 extra bucks before they go in the boat I will grab cams and gaskets... and swap... we will see, the whole FUKKING POINT was to have the parts right the first time, build ONCE, not keep tearing them apart and in and out, it makes me sick I took OSO advice and used Bob, wish I knew more then... oh well... hope future is better...

Buy some used 741's and some springs and go boating. Throw your cams up for sale on FB swap shop and you won't be out much money to change over. I wouldn't run the risk of a catastrophic failure if you are that worried.

Run that splitting hairs concept past jerry at crane cams, or mike jones , or some of the other valvetrain specialists, coupled with short duratuon hydraulic lobe, and see what they tell you on that subject.

It puts undue stress on the lifters, push rods, rockers and studs. due to acceleration rates!!
