Default 38 Gun SSMIII to SSM4 swap??

Anyone ever do a direct swap same power (750) from SSMIII to SSM4 on boxes in a straight hull gun? was it worth it? I have a full SSM4 conversion here wondering if I want to change things, like my deep drves for rougher water bite, but these are here for me if I want them at no cost.. parts for 4's? (small shaft) same as 3's besides vertical shafts?

From my experience. If you are going low 80s mph or less the speed change is little to none and the boat handles better with the 3s. Rough water handling is way better with the threes.

#4 parts are almost impossible to find. Before being completely redone. Razzmatazz sat for a while because of broken 4 and no available parts. This was years ago.

Parts are not hard to find for the five drives . Reach out to Gary Kolofski he I believe makes all the replacement gears etc. He is a member .

Thank you, seen a boat with V's and wasn't sure about that.

If you go from 3’s to 4/5’s what setup changes have be made with the higher X dimension? I’m sure going to a 5 blade prop would help.

These boxe have 3 placement options then you can also space drives to liking also, kind of be able to do anything with this setup, propping depends on boat and power, donlt always need a 5 blade..
