I`ll defer to Dan team archer , dry sump vs wet sump , on a V bottom wont make much difference , guys been dealing with number 6 drive for 30 years so when guys say get the dry sumps it`ll be faster i just agree cause it`s not worth the argument.
Dan says on a cat you`ll notice the difference maybe couple mph Vee not so much.
Everyone has hard on for dry sumps like they were the second coming but no oil to gears in reverse (wear and tear) not really a true dry sump since the lower half is filled with oil.
If the dry sump oil pump ever takes a $hit say goodbye to a lot more parts.

I like the wet sump.

Everyone I`ve ever talked to that has done the swap reports higher speeds.
I figure because they always move the drives up.
On a Flat deck 2" above bottom seems to ba good spot.
Thats 2" higher than I`m at currently so I`d except less drag.

That horn outta get some attention 😂. Hard to beat the simplicity and versatility of a little jet boat imo. Our first two were jet boats. 2000 sea doo speedster with a merc sport jet was a riot. Great boat for blasting up rivers

You'll hate that Cigarette after the simplicity of that thing. LOL
I know you got it second hand. Did you buy it from a KY owner?
Are you going to "tune it"?

bullet proof motor, no gauges to watch or worry about, run it at wot for as long as I want . No anxiety of something breaking , no outdrives, way more room.. It`s what I need right now.
i`m not tuning anything , leaving as stock and reliable as can be. Same motor as my jet ski, 250hp . it`s gonna be a good time.

Nice, congratulations. There is a lot to be said about simplicity. I also bought a new back up boat, it's amazing I can fit as many people on a boat half the size of the Cigarette. I am sure it will use half the fuel as well.

The cigarette project sucked anyways, it got boring, and that boat isn’t that cool anyways. Surprised this horn makes enough noise to be heard on the water ;-). Enjoy your trouble free boating season.

Are you going to mount the trim tabs horizontally?
