And I don't think you'll find ANYONE that will put a step in a straight hull boat. Again, just not worth it.
finally found the photo, tres did put a step into a Stright bottom and it was the 90mph edition pure adrenalin, i cant imagine it would do much but just going over my options.

Convert the boat to 6's (or 8's) and run a pair of big Brummett marine Mills to hit the numbers your after.

There was an Apache at loto that had a step added to the bottom (added to the btm like a wedge Vs cut into the running surface)....did that ever account for any performance enhancement?

ah! Yes, I wouldn’t necessarily call
that a step. More bottom mod. Wonder if 1) it did anything and 2) it’s still there? Just ran with that boat in June at loto. Good looking and running.

yep, that's the boat, I'm pretty sure it's still there but I really just want to know if it did anything speed and performance wise.

yeah, it looks like he just kinda attached the two outside strakes to make that notch. I suppose it would airate a little but that is further forward than where most of the boat rides at speed. But then again Tres forgot more about that stuff than I’ll ever learn soooo there’s that. Lol

that was a great run Ken. Glad you guys waited for us, we were a little slow from the bar the night before. 😂😂

tim still own both those boats?
