I have a friend who tried the IMCO extention boxes on his 94 Gun. It ran faster but it was much more difficult to keep from porposing. It would ride decent at wide open. Cruising was terrible without tabs. He tried the shorty drives too and spacers, same result.

Trickey I have the old Mirage 23" and top speed
is 75mph on a fresh water lake in 1500ft elevation.
On sea level, I think 80mph are realistic.
cigracer Thank you for your infos, what's the configuration of your friends gun now. Does he drive
with the shorty drives or the box or both? And what
kind of prop he drive?

I had the TG cigracer was talking about & the boat ran just as fast with std legnth nose coned drives and Bravo 1 props as it did with all other variations but the ride was much better. The X on the old TG was a little low but 2" was too much on mine, if you could get a 1" short drive & Bravo 1 props; based on what I saw might be ideal. Good Luck!!!
PS> I had twin 1000s and ran 92mph@6100rpm; so I sold it.
