I'm sayin to easily clear 80 consistently. Not just hit it one time on a cold day, no fuel, 1 person, sea level, salt water, blah, blah. There are 3 Cafes around here with 550-600hp that are 75mph everyday, a far cry from 80.

I believe a solid 80 is achievable with 630-650 hp.

I had a 1991 Carbon 70 Series Cafe ( the light layup mix of carbon fiber and/or kevlar ) with Derebery Marine SC600's that where single carbed, running through Bravo 1's / nose cones / 28 pitch 3 blade props. I consistantly ran over 80 mph on a 0-80 Gaffrig speedo in fresh water, though I never GPS'd it. I would guess that I was consistantly running a true 83-84 mph, as I ran my buddy in his 110 mph documented Hustler and he stated that I was with him to 85 mph. I dont know the actual power/torque numbers that the motors where putting out, as Leon Derebery would not send me or share with me dyno info/sheets since I bought the boat second hand. It did breath through CMI Big Tubes and tips. It is now owned by OSO member CAFE ( Doug ).
As a trivia tidbit, the lightweight Carbon 70 series Cafe's are/where supposed to run at least 70 MPH with carbed 502 Magnums and Bravo 1's, hence the '70' monicker.
