Default 94 Top Gun speeds

As a lot of you know, I am repowering my 94. I am looking at 4 different packages

500 efi
525 s/c
550 n/a
600 s/c

2 set ups are used - 2 will be new when built

My old set up were 502/ 390's which got me 63-66 mph all day long. Does anybody have similar hp in there boat so I can compare what my actual top speed should be around ??

My guess would be

500 68-70
525 70-72
550 73-75
600 76-78 mph

Ive tried the formula thats been floating around for my 502's and it came out REAL SLOW compared to what I was actually doing.

Merry Christmas

Bob

We have a Carbon Fiber, very light boat. 525 blower motors. It runs between 71-73 depending on the weight in the boat.

Here is my go at it:
500 efi / 71MPH
525 s/c / 72MPH
550 n/a / 74MPH
600 s/c / 78MPH- Boatme gets a little faster with this exact set-up but I think his boat is lighter than yours Bob.

I have had several Top Guns with everything between 575hp up to 975hp a side; with 600sc all day any day people, fuel and adult beverages, 74mph on fresh water lake is the best. The 975's ran 93mph same load same conditions.

My friends '94 TG with Hawk SC550's and Bravo's ran 71-73 mph in salt on Gaffrig, light to medium load, non Kevlar'd hull.
