true, but if the donut gasket don't seal right it can do that, I only said since it was so far back, also look around breathers, if they are too full they will puke, non running and cold my levels are about 5/8" up the stick, also add pressure gauges they will tell you whats going on if they start to go bad on you....

you must be very cautious of leaks, these do not hold much fluid, once it slips it's done in almost every case.... I literally check all my fluids daily when running all weekend... I see so many guys never lift hatch, I do way too much but I know whats going on in there...

Thank goodness for forums like this, as there are so many things with these boats that I would never think to look in to. Always informative, and good nightstand reading before bed.

These engines and tranny's were just put in with no run time in this boat. I first noticed this when ran on the hose, cleaned it all up........ fast forward three weeks, I checked the level ( cold ) before heading to the ramp and nothing on the stick, I put 3/4 quart in it and put it to the full mark.......... ran it for 1 mile and because of another issue ( port engine shut down ) limped back to the ramp and loaded it up, but noticed it was not shifting right loading it on the trailer, I'd move the stick forward and it would take a few seconds for the prop to engage

33 as a diagnostic , if is not too much trouble ,clean the mess set the boat in the water for the proper ride angle ( it makes a difference ) fire it , run it shut it down check oil right away . This way you can rule out the over full situation . If that leak is occurring quickly not likely a seal , it would have leaked sitting on floor before you installed . Double check your cooler line fittings . Just my thoughts on where to start , hate for you to pull motor if you don't have to .

Yes I would check as much as possible before pulling it, most of the time it's too full

It shifted fine for the first 15 min, but as the fluid started coming out there is a delay going forward and reverse, would that still be an over full issue ? I sure don't want to burn up a tranny, these are hooked to new 15in coolers

Pressure gauges can help if you have too much pressure you can blow a pump
