1) With a second child on the way the cockpit works better for us.
2) I’ll have less in it than Red Cloud so there is a real chance it will be our family boat and we will buy a rocket boat for fun.
3) I have known every owner of the boat since it was new and I know it’s a solid boat that has been updated by each owner.
4) I was my wifes favorite boat we’ve owned.
5) It’s a Kevlar boat. (so was Red Cloud)
6) I like the lay out of the old dash better than the new nav stations (can’t read the gauges on the other side of the boat at 80 MPH
7) If we don’t buy a second boat it will make a great platform to go with Konrads at 800s

In short I had sunk a small fortune into Red Cloud and to go back and take a perfect cockpit and engines out and start over just didn’t make sense. If I hadn’t already owned the boat and know it I wouldn’t have had any interest in another strait hull top gun, but this just fit.

BTW Bob wins the name contest although we had to go with Dea-Ja-Voo to follow the Ron-Da-Voo name when we had it before.

The new windscreen is at the shop waiting to put on along with a new set of Marine Machine throttles & Shifters (loved em on RC) when it arrives from NY. Probably put new cables in at that time too, then she should be good til winter when we will have to decide what to do for new power. We will have to bump it at least to the RC range as I don't think I could stand to let Kelly pass me on the lake. The day he did it would be headed to the shop anyway so might as well bite the bullet.

Learned a lot from the RC redo and have some new ideas this time around. For once I can't wait for winter.
