What should I pay for a 1989 cafe that has a pair of 540's with b&m blowers (not sure what size) but the motors put out like 750. (30hrs on motors) The hull has been painted with awesome graphics that were done perfect, and i could tell people the boat was brand new.....and they would believe me (its that nice) completly redone. I really want the boat, should I pay 80,000?

Have it surveyed and look at what the rigs listed in the classified here and boattrader.com go for.
I sold a '94 Cafe/wTrailer in Dec 2003 for less than that. Paid a lot less then that to buy it in 2002. Had 2000 502 MagMPI/Bravo's for poer and drives and ran 68 mph.

It sounds like someone put a lot of time and effort into the engines/drives/paint. To me, that makes it stand way out in front of a newer boat with stock power(502's etc). You can't compare this boat to other "stock" boats. Custom engines and hardware separate the men from the boys and really determine the VALUE of an older Cig. Throw the NADA book out the window on this application.
Find one with comparable equipment and then compare $$$$. Better yet, price a stock boat and then add up the expense to duplicate........plus consider you wont be boating for months while the modifications are done.

I am unsure who built them as of now and im waiting on the pics.... hopefully ill have all that soon. Yeah he swears the boat runs 87 with a 4 lb pulley, I dont know that yet... ive only seen it and didnt run it. yeah nada's like 74 at most. I love the boat, i guess i should just pay what its worth to me! Im probably gonna run the boat and that will help my decision im sure.....
