It's a story born in 1983.
Cats in aluminum on design and Cougar licence. Nooxy of Spelta was the first one in 1983.
Then they followed Cougar Italia of Bottanelli in 1984,Jacob & Cohen of Bardelle next Topolino-Baby Cresci of Ballabio-Curtis in 1987,Sun International of Casiraghi in 1988.
These are the most famous.
Pictures coming soon.

Stain(StudioArchitettureIndustriali) it's a brand of industrial metal technology started in the sixties near Turin. With the chairman Fausto Atzori the racing section started in 1973 with the building of a tin version of the Class 2 trimaran Arcidiavolo called Shotts.

In 1984 was builded the first catamaran 38' based on the 38' of Cougar. Nooxy of Angelo Spelta was powered with the new V6 Turbo Diesel engines of Isotta Fraschini and equipped with the Arneson Surface stern drives, but it sank the same year.
Then for the World Championships in Viareggio in october 1984 was ready the second cat, for Bottanelli. Cougar Italia was identical to the Nooxy, powered with I.F. and with Arneson Drives units.

Cougar Italia was an Italian partnership of the British Cougar founded by the offshore drivers Giampiero Lazzarone,Fulvio Monteverdi e Adolfo Bardelle that it leaned to Stain to build the boats.
In 1985 with Bardelle the former Cougar Italia became Americanino Jeans that compete in the World Championships in Key West 1985 and then Jacob Cohen & Co.in the WC in Auckland 1986 where it was near to win the Title.
