I got my info from Ben himself............2 years ago........maybe you should check with clive or steve............mark.......

hows this for a cool find, just looked at it last week again. its a 38 Cougar that has never been rigged. a friend of mine has it for sale right now. what kind of performance could be expected out of this boat with Arnesons and 1000's? just curious really. also how well do these boats handle? is it a user friendly boat or do they have to be driven?

Back to the European tin boats(there was more that in Usa),the SDA of Polli that raced in Key West in 1987 and now race little changed like Thuraya.

Some tin boats of the CUV shipyards in the eighties:
A Peters's tunnel, SAIMA,the first cat ever made by CUV.
Centre; a classical mono 38' ,Shead designed, was Miura,UIM World Champion in 1984 with Alberto Petri
Bottom; the prototype,Cougar inspired,UIM World Champion in1991 with Ambrogetti-Spelta.

And where is chairman of the board ? I believe it was a 12 cylinder merc. Lamborghini !

For many years in the UK tin boats raced very successfully in UIM class 3C (for 2 litre boats), like this Forgecraft. Very good in the rough - won many races.
