What happened to all the TIN boats??
The tin boats....the ones made out of aluminum...they should still be around somewhere...any photos out there.
This boat is still in use as a sheriff's rescue boat up in Wisconsin.

Builded for Giulio De Angelis, was the third 38' by CUV shipyards in Viareggio,Italy.
In 1980 when De Angelis was retired from competitions it was sold to Alberto Smania that races with it for almost 10 years, before it sank somewhere along the waters of the Italian coasts, during a Venezia to Montecarlo race in the early '90's if my mind don't take a mistake.
Some CUV 38' or 41' race again todays in P1 Class but I don't know who was they once upon a time.
I think they are former Spelta family boats(San Benedetto/Paul Picot),the last builded by the by now non existent CUV.
From 1977 to the early '90's CUV(Cantieri Uniti Viareggio-United Shipyards Viareggio) builded at least 10 monohull-Shead design 38'-41' tin boats and the same number of Michael Peters design 38'-42' cats still in tin,one of those gone in USA like Dirty Laundry for Joe Mach in the '90's.
