Re: Old Aronow (and others) movie
I remember that movie and as the movie is copyrighted by its original owner and/or may have been subsequently purchased by someone else, it might be prudent to send the tape to Charlie at HORBA and let the HORBA legal team acquire the rights before any copies are made and mass selling and distribution takes place.
It was filmed by John DeGroot during the 1967 racing season.
No one wants to open themselves up to copyright infringement or another kind of legal liability. Lets do this correctly.
If Charlie can clear it, let the DVDs get made.

That sounds right. The movie was originally financed by Maritime/Thunderbird Boats. John DeGroot is an old friend. I'll find out. I do not intend to make this a commercial enterprise.

Brownie:
My dad is travelling this week but legal is already on this one (and many other films too!) to see what HORBA can do about getting these made into DVD's and out to you all. We actually have this one converted to DVD already compliments of Crouse...but Brownie if you know John DeGroot then maybe that's the way to go. Remember when you talk to him to remind him that HORBA is a non-profit organization; if these DVD's were to be made available on the HORBA site, all costs associated with the making of these would just be "passed through" to the customer - we're not looking to make any profit on these sales.

Jr., I also know some the heirs and assigns of Maritime. I'll work from this end. We're both heading in the same direction..........
