I own a 1987 Switzer 240ss offshore w 2 Mercury Racing 2.5L outboards. I have tried to find some info on this model of boat and i could not find anything. The only other boats that i have found have a 454 in them. I have never seen another switzer 240 ss with outboards. I was wondering if any one else knows anything about my boat. I have owned the boat for 3 years and i still don't know anything about it.

I don't know much about The big Switzer Vees... Bob and Dave sold the company about the time those boats were being built...and I know the later owners didn't have much success. The Switzer legend was made in closed course and marathon outboard racing in the 50's and 60's........ everything after that was kind of an afterthought.

I like my Switzer![/QUOTE]
I like mine too.......
But it's a whole different animal...and era...and much more reflective of the Switzer family's unique vision.

Great looking rig! Thanks for the picture. In the late 60' early 70's a guy that lived around the corner from me on Barcelona Drive in Ft. Lauderdale had one. I believe his name was Jock Horner. He raced the boat for a few years and many times at Miami Marine Stadium. I was a racer back in those days but had a CSR/DSR Runabout. Not in the same league.
Cool boats that put on a great show and always a crowd pleaser!
