There is a thread on here somewhere where someone is restoring a cig in Europe that had the deck/windhshield added very much like that one?? Could that be it??

Hang Time:
I believe that the boat you are referring to is the ex-'Aeromarine IX / Dry Martini'. It was extensively modified and was last seen in Hamble on the Solent.

A picture of 'The Cigarette' as we want to remember it, taking its designer/driver on to another victory in the 1969 world Championship winning season.

Hi MF:

Judging by the content of your post and by your profile, I gather that you are the owner of Aeromarine IX / Dry Martini.
Have you any plans to restore the boat in its race configuration?

....At the moment i am really in deep thoughts about it. Initially i assumed it was a normal 36 Cigarette...was planning to raise a little the deck like it is in today's top gun....since i will use the boat for pleasure...
But honestly when i found out what cigarette it is for sure....i do not know.
Partly because i am finishing home and busy at work....(looking to find time this spring,,,,) and partly because it would be a waste to modify the boat of its original shape, also if it was modified when i bought it. ( in fact what cought my attention was the hull line, it always interested me....and it's the reason because i was looking forward to this ..boat (call it a piece of fiberglass as it is now....)for two years before i could buy it..)
The original deck is relly beautiful, but i doubt that inside i can have one a 15 days trip sleeping and living onboard confortably.....but i am planning to at least try to make something that shows me the inside height....

Anyhow anybody who has some interior pics of these boats will do me a big favour posting them ...And i am always open for opinions on how to restore it...(I kinda like the Dry Martini Team Colors....)

Marco

Personally.....I think it's important that you restore it as a race boat.......or you could sell or trade it for what suits you more.

Just my opinion.....
