That waving Stars and Stripes really behind the race number had to give suspicion!
To think that it seems that that boat had to mark the return to the competitions of Don, but then this last has desisted and he has surrendered her to Norris.
However before that Don in couple with Jim Wynne in that boat (all in white colour at time but just with the #2) won a club race in 1971 or 1972...

Yes Len I owned the BELIEVE IT Magnum from 1981 to 1986. She started life as the Dam Yankee sister Mag to Li'L SMIDGEN & SPIRIT. After we bought the rear hatch from the SPIRIT many thought it was the same Mag. I later sold it to a friend who raced it as CHEMICAL Re ACTION, were she is today ???????

The 1973 Kirby Classic and Lake Erie proved to much for many of the race teams. Veteran local racer Sandy Satullo sank when testing his new wooden 40' Gara COPPER KETTLE the day before the race. Also at the start of the race Wally Harper spun his 27' Magnum Lil SMIDGEN do to a broken drive. Wally and his codriver Jack Mathes Jr were thrown into the water. Sandy Satullo would have to use his old Cigarette to run the race.

BT you are right, this pic of the #666 is from a later date. I found this new's paper story that must go with that picture. The #666 won the race, Li'L SMIDGEN won Production class and was 4th overall.

Many of the pictures do not have dates on them, sorry about the confusion. This pic must be from the same race.
