Here is a ad from back in the day, AMF built the Crestliner Rampage, and like my two Harley Davidsons of that era there quality was not that good. Defiantly not a Formula. Our local Sheriff Dept had one, as well as a friend of mine, both boats had hull delamination problems.

I had a 1979 Crestliner 2655 - great boat, great layout, but it also had hull problems.

The wood stringers became detached from the fiberglass wrapping. Then from the bulkheads. Also, there was a crack in the hull visible from the outside under the boat beneath the mentioned stringers. it appeared that the boat had been "oil canning" while running. Keep in mind I owned this boat a very long time ago so the details are kinda faded now. However, all this work was redone by a guy in Annapolis and I still see that boat running around on the Chesapeake today. Good Luck.
BTW, I still like the boat's style and layout. Mine had twin 260's.

I wouldn't put much stock in any AMF product, after all they barely knew how to make bowling pins stand up...

My plan is to buy the boat without the 170 hp engines,
wich is installed. Rebuild it to a singel engine.
(big block from 350 hp to 450 hp).

How will this effect the preformance of the boat?

Most of this boats was delivered originaly with 2 x 260 hp small blocks, this power gave a speed around 60 mph.

If I install a singel bigblock 450 hp how mouch speed will I
loose, the boat wil cary less weight.?
