Olli,

No pics, it was on boat trader and ebay for awhile, all white boat, I think it was a Cougar BOSS or called BOSS????

I kept thinking about calling because it was so cheap but those Merlins, well you know. I kept thinking no matter how cheap you throw the Merlins away and buy Cummins C and with installation it's a $150,000 plus for a big boat with no resale?

Tony Roberts built the 50' BOSS molds from a 46' cougar hull that cougar left behind when they moved back to england. He made only 1 or 2 50's, several 38 & 42 & 46, he built 12-14 boats for the venezualin navy, all with merlin deisels and arneson drives. the tripple diesel V was probably his own. He had one 50' that had 3 cobra motors and drives, the marina next to Rum Runners was doing an exibition on their new crane showing how they can pick up a boat over several other boats, well I guess the wind was blowing too hard and they dropped his brand new 50' on top a brand new 44' tempest, needless to say the crane sat there for 15+ years unused before it was turned into scrap metal.

What was/is that big yellow boat set-for?

Was that a Popeyes diesel boat for the Miami - NY race years ago or was that something else?

If it was diesel does anyone know what it had?

I DID THE SURVEY FOR DR.BOB WHEN HE PURCHASED HIS 38 COUGAR BEFORE HE STARTED THE COMPLETE REFIT ALL THAT I AM ALOUD TO SAY AT THIS POINT IS THERE WILL NOT BE A COUGAR QUITE LIKE THIS BOAT. I KEEP IN TOUCH WITH HIM WEEKLY ABOUT THE PROGRESS AND RECIEVE PICTURES. I CANT WAIT TO SEE JUST HOW WELL THIS BOAT WILL RUN.

I think the yellow boat at LCM was the Maxon triple superboat at one point. The Popeyes boat was Morales's Mercruiser Special.

Ryan,

Hi, I just assumed with yellow paint and red interior it might have been a Popeye's boat.

When Al did that Miami NY run what boat was that with (a Cougar V?) and do you remember what power it had?

Popeyes used morales's aluminum V for the Miami ny race.
