Your 100% right there. In our area you had Frank, Mike, Marty and George who were all racers and had the check books to help make the races come off. If not for them we wouldn't have had half the races we did back in the 90's and early 2000's.

As for the volunteers between GLOPRA and the GLSCS you have 15 - 20 people who did all the work for many years, me including. We all got burned out from not having new people step up to take over and move forward.

When Frank got sick and slowed down his program, Mike and Marty all friends fell by the wayside, leaving George (Grumpy) to try to keep things going. The last really big races in this area were the Mentor Harbor races that GLOPRA/GLSCS with Kathy White (MOM) put on. At that point they had a title sponsor who was a memeber of MHYC and helped come up with the $50+++K to put on the races.

Again the next group of volunteers never pulled anything together after that. This left GLOPRA and the GLSCS to flounder and eventually close up shop.

THe GLSCS is still in operation (moth balled) if anyone would like to put something together again in thsi area.

Just purchased this carrera. Anybody know any history on this boat? Planning on making a couple OPA races next season in the 600 class.

Ed sold the boat to a guy in Texas - it is now white and used for pleasure I believe, Ed is still in MI, but doing limited boating

Jeff Rivard still builds boats in FL under the exciter name and was crew chief for F2-4 Let's Play racing in 2001 and 2002

Pat drove with me to a APBA F2 World Championship in 2003 and he and his family still own Belle River Marina in Marine City, Mi

pretty cool video of them racing in the exciter website video section http://exciterboats.com/Videos.html
