Default Supersharging a Stock 454 Mag with MSD Ignition?

Okay..solved the Impeller problem.. now here's the setup... 1991 Carbureted 454 Mag, Bravo 1 Drive 1.5, 21p 3 blade Stainless, 62 mph gps top speed at 4800 rpm's on glass 1/2 tank 420 lbs of passenger/driver.. Pachanga 22 V Hull. Boat weight is approx 2780 empty and bone dry.
I wanna go Faster. Is a bolt On Procharger a viable option to run a larger prop without modifying the motor..and what kind of performance gains can I expect? The boat was a factory 60 mph plus boat with the Alpha Drive and 350 sm blk. Looking to unleash the power and torque stashed in the cubes of the big block while maintaining the reliability of the stock motor. I do have an MSD ignition, but this is a carbed motor and raw water cooled. What are the potential Pitfalls and Drawbacks compared to the % of Power to the Prop?

I've got an '86 22 Pachanga with a 350 Mag, spinning a 23 Laser II to 4900 rpm. 62.9 gps with just me on board. Your 454 Mag should be way over revving with that 21. I'd be looking into a good tune up/compression test etc. What is the total timing set at?

Not a fan of bolting on a supercharger to stock motors, you really should upgrade the valves to Inconel intakes, stainless one piece exhausts. Otherwise, you are asking for trouble and a broken boat.

Sorry Biggus..23p Ballistic. Had 21 on the Brain because that's what the Boat came with. I like the theoretical #'s of a 25 or 26p 4 blade but don't want to overprop the motor and lose much holeshot.

Anytime you supercharge you will loose the reliability of a "stock motor". You are now straining the internals and the drive and things can and do break.

Well, where are the weak points and what parts need the upgrade first to handle the added stress?

I figure Roller/Rockers and a ported Intake or have the current intake ported then throw on a 750 or 800 cfm 4 brl. Eddy or Holley. I'm a Holley guy on every small block I'v ever built, but Eddy is keeping up with the times and get a lot of rave reviews in the Marine World from other Big Block Owners.
