Thanks..
A very good friend of mine who due to his night time Vietnam era Navy river gun boat training ran a few Signatures with very large hatches in the deck back in the day, Yes Tommy was involved .

Very interesting reading about the Signature history. I know of a 1976 27' red and white one with a single BBC bow tie motor that ran in Northport, NY on Long island. Beautiful lines, ran around 70-72 mph I recall and would cut through the waves like butter. It has been changed over to a twin outboard setup over the years and is now white. I seem to recall being told it was a heavy layup in those days so to go fast they needed alot of HP.

After reading thru here I'm wondering if it is really a 'Signature' boat or perhaps really a Magnum hull with the Signature name.

DNelson, the 27 Signature was spalshed from the 27 Magnum botttom,. A new deck was designed, hence=27 Signature.

Mark those headers dumping to the sides of the Signature27 look really cool and must have been pretty loud to........is that strictly race or could that ever work in a pleasure setup?

Pete When I saw Tom's 27' Signature @ the 1976 River Crab race the engine compartment was very impressive. The small block Chevy's with the Paterson headers pipes coming out the side was very cool & looked as good as any open class boat racing @ that race. A funny thing about Tom's boat though it never came of the trailer that race weekend so I never heard it run.... Mark
