Just finished putting in the second layer of the transom in now working on the two engine stringers and a couple of little fillers and the engine room is just about done.

second layer of the transom and knee bracing is in and tabbed.[ATTACH=CONFIG]531362[/ATTACH] Now working on the new cockpit floor got it patterned and glassing the bottom so we can install tomorrow.

Great work Dan . I am impreesed that the area where the Tabs bolt throught wasn't wet . Are you doing the repair in Epoxy , vinylester or polyester . Given the age of the boat may have been laid up with polyester . Just curious .

This boat is getting done in vinylester resin. We were also surprised how nice the transom was the only reason we had to replace it was because they had cut it out to hang their custom surface drives. We are going back to the Kiekhaefer drive, early VI drive

Wow thats great , given its age one would expect there would been more water damage . Obviously a well built boat to start with.

Just putting all the layers of fiber on all the repairs it takes 4 layers on the transom and 3 on all the other repairs the new cockpit floor is in and final layer going on right now. Pictures tomorrow.

Finished all 4 layers of 1708 on the inside of the transom should be strong enough for the kiekhaefer drives [ATTACH=CONFIG]531793[/ATTACH] Cockpit floor finished next is the foot rest [ATTACH=CONFIG]531794[/ATTACH]
