The Imperial clone I mentioned above had cracks all over the deck where a quality original would not have , and that was a single small block Volvo D/P powered boat.
Heaven forbid it had some real ponies in it.
Put the crack pipe down .

A transom with a thickness of 6'' to 8" ? And how do you propose they installed the transom plate ?

Imperial was built by all season industries, was a dealer for them back in the 80s. Boat was a 27 magnum knock off. However it was built by imperial and was as big a p.o.s. as the rest of their boats.

Wrong boat folks!!
[Everyone replying to this thread knows nothing about the boats in question, especially the guy who said he sold them. Obviously his 80's era memory is slipping, or he's just full of ****. The boats he refers to have nothing in common. The white boat with the red cover is my old boat, the one everyone here is taking about.... Its a 1990 imperial 27ss hull #6.

Just a fyi, Don's boats were not the end all be all. Especially the early ones. Donzi's were supposed to be disposable for god sakes. They built boats, not tanks. One of the reasons they were a little faster on the water then most boats.

Some 'wizards' are lucky enough to chill it in the real deal.
Saw this thread today and found it interesting for two reasons. Always liked the 1981 design of Don's Squadron XII 27 Offshore, and second, a splashed hull might be a great compliment, way after the event, but a truly criminal act whenever it took place! Found out that Alsberg Boats LLC, All Season Industries Mngmnt Corp, All Seasons Industries Inc(all with HIN ALS), even operating as Imperial Boats as a boat model only, ALPEX Corp, Allport Boat Corp, (though with HIN OOB)), had a James L. Evering as agent, and was in business from 11/2007-06/2012, with the same Alan S. Berg Jr. at the helm that used to do the cute Harry Schoell designed Alsberg Classic 16 Runabout, as Alsberg Boat Works, in the late 90's to about 2006 and then folding. Alsberg Boats LLC derived its name from the owner Al(an) S. Berg. The link below will explain where just one of all the facts in this thread got quite messed up, to say the least, but then we are dealing with a dinosaur of a boat here, with possibly withered bones and a cabin instead of solid bulkheads.
Link to HIN and MIC here: https://boatdb.net/manufacturer/alsb...ts-llc-ALS.htm
If the boat, named an Imperial 27SS, subject of this thread, actually had a title with a HIN starting with ALS, as claimed, it was pretty much the only thing correct here. Sure a rare boat though, one of seven made, I wonder why? However, hopefully, the boat's transom isn't 6 inches thick and its previous owner, and now its new owner also, instead, after all this, got themselves 6 inches thicker skin.
