The boat was cleaned polished and shrinkwrapped ... but it was stored with 75 Gallons of what evolved into varsol.
The fuel pumps and injectors were fouled and stuck shut so I pumped the tanks out, added some fresh fuel with some Startron in it and hooked a vacuum pump to the fuel line entering the throttlebody.
A couple of hours of vacuum on I started getting a trickleflow through the lines. I disconnected the vacuum pump and put power to the pumps and they both fired up.
I reconnected at the throttlebody the applied kinetic energy to the side of the injectors and they started firing as well!
I changed the oil and all the filters and it turned into a happy ending.

Anyone have an opinion on valuation for insurance ? It's old but it's sweet.

In my case I tried to polish the fuel, but after 20 years of sitting you know the story.......sucked all the bad fuel out, filled up with AV fuel, cleaned all the injectors, new filters and new fuel pumps.....roared like a tiger!

Browsing some ads for similar boats, found a couple of 38', one was $38K, one was $62K. But so many variable affecting value (overall conditions, hours on engines, fresh/salt water use, etc) that really affect the value. Perhaps there's a good appraiser in the area who can help you? Let's ask this: what would it take for you to sell it? If that number is $50K or $100K, then find an insurer to cover it for the amount you agree on...obviously one has to be intelligent about this. Put another way, you know what you have in it, and in the event of a total loss, what would YOUR expectation/desire be for compensation?

Does anybody have any knowledge of the history behind Scorpion boats made in Owen Sound Ontario Canada ?
I had the very first one of the hull, it was made by Cheetah boat out west.in 1976. The first pic was my boat & the second pic is my boat with it's latest owner 35+ years later it still looks great. Many companies copied it like Warlock & Can Am built them & many more.
