This boat is listed for sale by me on this site in classifieds as well as Scream and Fly classifieds and marketplace. It is generating a lot of interest as it is an incredible boat. It's a great piece of history and a real time capsule.

The Aronow Unlimited, the model you show there is for racing in the Unlimited class race boats,
This is not the same boat he is asking about. The 24 cat shown in first set of photos
Don Aronow sold me some of his older molds from Cigarette when I started the Banana Boat co. One of those molds was the 24 Cigarette deep vee.
A year or so later, he called me and asked me to make him single hull from the 24 foot mold, no deck, but extra bulkheads to keep the hull strong. He told me he had a new idea and wanted to try it on this hull. I made it for him and delivered it to his shop in Florida. He took that hull and sliced it right down the middle and split the two sides and added a tunnel. He put two big OMC outboards and the boat broke 100 MPH. He then used that same design idea and proceeded to make the Blue Thunder cats with a much bigger deep vee hull to split down the middle.
Charlie McCarthy's banana boat co Website with more information.

The Aronow unlimited 24' race tunnel hull was built in '85 (picture shown) that small model was given to Don as a present by the men in his shop......Michael also says, Don tested that race tunnel hull which Keith Hazel was involved with the engines and Gary Garbrect with the hull.......Since Don passed in '87 any future hull built like post #16 was a splash of the original hull, but not the deck and built in pleasure form.

That is the seriel 24016... total HIN is URT24016E990
URT is USA Racing team (AKA Aronow powersports). Built May 1990 (E990) and 24016 is hull or seriel number. I'm told there were 24 built and this is #24 (24 in Hin) not sure about the 016.I was put in contact with Frank Melero (listed as owner Aronow powersports) who has put me in touch with Allen Brown who is an author and was friends with Don Aronow. It is said that Allen was also involved in the boat business when Thunderboat row was big. Boat was built on Thunderboat row. Said to be last hull designed by Don Aronow. Super rare boat that I am having trouble getting information about. Any help GREATLY appreciated.. Thank you all fo looking..

I thought the Unlimited boat was bigger than 24’ as well??
30’ maybe??
I know they’re were two.
Not sure on hulls but one ran 4 Mercs, I think chained together running two drives and one driven by Jimbo McConnell running four F-1 V-8 OMC’s (and was very fast!).

orths, and didn't make the performance they needed. Jerry Gilbreath brought the Aronow up to our Arneson shop in San Francisco, along with a pair of Keith Black ' sprint car' configured Hemi's. We installed the Hemi's,
After the change, Howard allowed me to haul the boat to the remaining Hydroplane races. ( The 2nd photo, showing the rear, is when I backed the boat to the Second Effort shop ( Garbrecht / Brett May, at Lake Hamilton, Fl, after the race season. ( 1981 )
