Good deal or not on '07 Cobalt 252 w/ 496 MAG?
For those that don't know, I've been looking at a Baja 277 Islander pretty heavy the past few weeks. But my focus has turned toward these beautiful Cobalts, in particular, the 252.
I've found a dealer that has a brand new 2007 252 with a 496 MAG and Bravo 3. It comes with a fully optioned Eagle trailer. Options include: bow and cockpit covers, bimini, swim platform lighting, leather steering wheel, stereo remote on transom, upgraded carpet, bow filler cushions, trim tabs, hatch actuator, dual battery, and SS tread. Maybe some other little items that as well. Most noticeably missing is the fire extinguishing system and docking lights.
Anyways, I've skinnied him down to $ for the boat and trailer + tax. In all of your experiences, how good of a deal does this sound? Do you think I can push a little harder still? I'm now dealing with the dealership owner through the sales manager. Apparently he's going to ask Cobalt for some help on the deal.
Input??

Make sure you have them install Captains Call exhaust. You will love the sound. You have them down VERY far on price. Tell them you give him the 64K, but you want then captains call thrown in. That is worth at least 2g's.

Captain's Call is $2800 for them to install. I'd rather just negotiate down even more. But I think the greatest negotiation tool in today's market is time and patience. This same dealer was at $74K with me only 1 week ago.

OMG!!
The profit margin on boats is that big! I never would have thought!
OK, I'm gonna stick with $ out the door. They came back with + tax. But I'll politely hold my ground and wait for them to call. This dealer also has four other '07 boats (all of them smaller boats however).

I have not found a website. However, in closing the deal, I did find that lenders have an "invoice" price on a boat. And it seems that approx $58K is what most lenders would say this boat is worth.
