Hi All
I'm thinking about buying a year 2000, 293 fresh water boat.
THe engines(350mag) were under water and are now out.
My dealer will put either 350 mag with 170 hours and bravo one drives, or 496 HO with around 70 hours and bravo one drives.
The 496's will up the price by some 15.000$
Will the 496 be worth the extra $?
Any info?

Our 293 has twin Volvo 5.7s and DP drives. A 293 with 350 Mags and bravo 1s will still move out over 55mph. That's plenty fast enough for this hull. I"m not sure the 293s were ever offered with anything larger that twin 6.2's. Twin 496s would be more than enough. Plus, if the boat was partially sunk, it's not something I'd be investing additional money into. Just my 2 cents! Good luck with it!
